Lucky Families

We decided that after 6 months of the Lucky Mommy's hanging out, it was time to acknowledge & introduce the Lucky Daddy's - who work very hard so us Lucky Mommy's can live the lives we lead! We had a little Lucky Family Night at our house -
Bob (Kailee's Lucky Daddy), Jerry (Gracie's Lucky Daddy), and Doug

While the daddy's hung out & got to know each other, the girls played in the pool - and relocated most of the sand form the sand table to other parts of the yard (all the damage was done while the daddy's were watching them & the mommy's were inside getting dinner ready!)
There was also inside play time, where Kailee & Gracie found a new use for Pop-pop's grasshopper!
The girls are ready for Hollywood!

It was a great night - the only thing that wasn't perfect was we were missing Mia & her daddy and Ryan and his daddy - we'll just have to do this again!

Saturday, we went to a Stockton Ports game with my dad. It was a great night - nice, new little ball park & faith night. They did a Christian concert before, and the Christian players gave their testimonies.
Becky & Pop pop had a great time together!

The players are all young - and it's single A ball so most won't make it to the majors, but they we re very articulate in their love for Jesus - it was awesome!
Mommy & Becky had a good time together too - we are a family of baseball lovers!

A Good Day

Friday, Doug, Becky, Sailor & I headed up to my dad's house. It's about a 6 hour drive (and you may recall that car trips have been challenging with here recently), so we meandered up the 5, and stopped at Pyramid Lake for lunch. We've driven by there 100 times, but never went into the park. It was absolutely lovely - with great picnic areas and a really nice swimming beach (that we didn't get to this time, but maybe next). We all got a chance to get out & stretch our legs!

We also ate a little lunch -
-shared a little love-
-and someone hammed it up a little for daddy behind the camera!

It was a great drive up; I think we may have found the answer!! (and isn't she just about the cutest thing ever!!)

Surprise Visit

We had a surprise visit on Thursday from my mom & stepdad - they stopped in on the way from San DIego back to Phoenix. Since it was Thursday, we all took a trip to the Farmer's Market.
We went because I needed some things, and because the spray fountain is one of Becky's favorite places!

We had a great visit!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for answered prayer. We had a huge scare today - we got an email from the NBC requesting more evidence on our I800A. What they were asking for was all the police checks, clearances, medicals, an update to the home study & biometrics on Matt (who is only 15 & doesn't live with us).It would have taken us about 2 months to get it - and we would have to go to court to request a minor's (non-existent) police record be released. We were being told we had to get it done within a 45 day period, or we would have to start the whole I800A process over.

Needless to say - I was a wreck! I was desperately trying to reach anyone I could to help - and all I was basically praying was"Oh no God". After about an hour of this & an email to the NBC asking for clarification - and giving them Matt's birth date - we got an email saying - never mind - we'll have decision for you tomorrow!

God heard the groaning of my heart without me even needing to speak them - and answered! He held me in His capable hands and handled this situation. This week , I have heard from several people who are also adopting from the same list as we are, about frustrations they are having with the process. Today was a reminder that our God hears the cries of our hearts for our children - and answers them. He is faithful all the time. He is trustworthy - all the time. He is merciful - all the time. He loves us - all the time!

I Stuck

Becky is quite curious these days, so we hear the words "stuck" a lot - and it usually means that she can't get something she wants.

I was in the kitchen this afternoon and heard "I stuck" coming from the living room....

...and she certainly was
(I know - most good mommy's would have run to help their child - I ran to get the camera!)

Splish Splash

We had a Lucky Mommy's swim party on Friday at Michelle's house - and the kids had a blast! They were three little water bugs -
We also celebrated Michelle's birthday - happy birthday friend!
The three fishy's!
