The End...of school!!!

At least for the summer!!!! We have had a great school year this year. We were blessed with amazing teachers for whom all the credit for progress made by all our children is due!!

Becky's teacher is moving this year - and she will be sorely missed at Eastside Christian School. One more thing I love about our school....praying over people as they move through their lives!

Becky adored Mrs. Flye - and she instilled a love of reading into our girl that will last a lifetime. What a gift and what a legacy!
Katie had a rough start to her year - but really pulled it together at teh end thanks to her amazing team!
 Miss Corina
 Miss Karen
 The AMAZING Miss Fonseca!
 Our awesome speech therapist!
 Miss Stephanie

Cami's last day of school included a time of show n tell....and my "shy" girl had no problem doing both!!!

Here is what I love about Cami's class - that she is so incredibly comfortable and safe with them. They are truly an amazing bunch of kids. Recently, we had one of her classmates out with us on an adventure, when we had a "staring" incident. It was a bad one - with the kids pointing and laughing and staring - bad enough that I had to tell them to stop.

Cami's classmate asked me "why are they staring?" I told him that it happens all the time when we are out - that people stare at Cami.

He asked "why?"

Why. Because he simply doesn't see her scars. None of her friends do. This is the most amazing group of kids - who have one another's back.

They fight and fuss at one another sometimes.

There are playground tears and tensions and competitions and periods of discontentment. It's hard when there's only one class of 4th graders - and they have mostly been together since pre-school!

But there is love. And there is learning to get along even when you don't feel like it. ANd there is loyalty. And there is friendship.

I think these kids can teach us a lot about how God would like the body of CHrist to function in the world. In our towns - and especially in our churches.

We don't always like one another. And we certainly don't always agree with one another. But God calls us to unity and loyalty and live together embodying the spirit of Jesus and of Joy.

I think these people do a fabulous job of that - and I am grateful every single day for each and every one of them!
