We had another fun filled adventure day with the Velcro baby - who is perfecting living up to her nickname! Two of our families went today to visit their SWI's - leaving us with Josie and Lia's family. We began by visiting an architectural/historical museum. It is a recreation of a traditional southern China family home -

Our group for today - Josie's in the stroller, I've got Becky & Joel is carrying Lia (who apparently heard there is a tiara up for grabs in the Miss Velcro pageant and has entered the competition!)

This is a god who guard the door of the home - and I am not sure what Destiney is trying to do...maybe give him a run for the money
The girls today.....
and the guys (plus two babies!)

After we got back to the hotel and tried t0 rest (an afternoon nap was not on Velcro baby's agenda), we took her down to the pool for her first swim -

She did ok with it - pretty neutral, which right now given her state of mind - is a ringing endorsement!
We are going to visit the orphanage tomorrow. Please pray for our safe travels and for the visit. I am hoping that it will bring some closure for Becky and help her with her grieving process. I am also hoping that we can visit her finding place and learn a little more about her first 14 months.

  1. We love the term "velcro baby"!! That's so funny! I guess it was all those prayers for bonding! I imagine the Lord smiling big time over that one! The pictures are beautiful, especially Becky sleeping and the two of you in the pool. So great that you can spend this time with her (as you put it..) "litter mates"! Abby and Roxy miss Sailor..they say she needs a blog, too!

  2. Karen,

I will pray for your trip tomorrow. It will likely be very difficult for Becky. You look so cute in the pool together.

I'm so jealous that you have a travel group! What special relationships you will have! It was so good to see Joel and clan- we met them a few months ago. Please tell them congratulations.

Becky is an absolute doll- what a blessing. I love that she's a velcro baby. I know she's thinking "I've waited all this time for you- you aren't going anywhere!"
