The calendar might only say March 15th - but it's been like summertime the last two days here! Yesterday we got together with Becky's BFF Gracie and went to the LA Zoo. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I love zoos - and we've been to some great ones - St. Louis, Houston, National Zoo and San Diego. While LA isn't quite as big or elaborate as those, it was still a really nice zoo with some great exhibits & great layout and we had a great day with our friend!

We were really hot & icky when we got home, and it was still warm and sunny - so we broke out the sprinkler and introduced Katie to the age old tradition of running through the sprinkler!
I think she liked it.....
...even Sailor got into the spirit!
After we dried off, it was into the backyard to test out the new sandbox that daddy put together (yes - fully assembled by Doug - in spite of help from his wife!!)

Oh how I long for some of that sunshine and "sprinkler" weather!! The zoo looked like a fun time, too. Spring is in the air, the birds are back and our feeders are busy...so I pray the snow stays away up here and that these March showers bring us some APRIL flowers!!

Love the girls in the matching outfits! I have a few of those for you! You'll find that matching is not just ridiculously adorable- it also helps you keep your eye on them in big, crowded places. That was my biggest adjustment to being a mom of two- being outnumbered on weekday outings. :) Oh, and Katie's smile makes me smile every. single. time!
