The "Rumble in the Jungle"

Becky will turn two on Tuesday. This is a very big deal for us, because we missed celebrating her first birthday. Birthday celebration aren't very common in the orphanages in China, so this is really her chance to celebrate her birthday for the first time. We have two celebrations planned and the first one was this afternoon. We had her kids party at Gymboree - were we "rumbled in the jungle"! But - her birthday celebration started even before that with a visit from our dear friend Lieke - who stopped in to bring Becky a present even before we made it to church this morning!

Daddy helped Becky open the present.....
...then Becky helped decorate daddy!
This afternoon - after nap time - which no nap took place...(sigh) - it was off to Gymboree for an afternoon filled with fun! We did so many things......we played ball....
.....we climbed and slid down the slides.....
.....climbed through tunnels......

...went bug collecting......
.... we did the "freeze" game on the log.....

our little freeze girl hamming it up pretty good here!
....we did bubbles (this was a huge hit!)....
...sang "wheels on the bus"....
....and "Row row row your boat.....
...and my how we danced!
Becky loves Gymbo the clown and got a big birthday kiss from him after the play time was over!
All dressed up and waiting for cake..... (although Becky didn't know what she was waiting for!)

With a little help from daddy, Becky was able to figure out what to do with the cake and the candle (sort of)
But had no problem figuring out what to do next with it! This kid hasn't met a sweet thing yet she didn't love!
A little help from her friends who were just making sure that Becky knew what to do with her presents since it was her first birthday party!

A great time was had by all - thanks to Miss Katie who made the party extra special for Becky and her friends. Miss Katie is pretty special to us and we were so glad she was able to share the day with Becky!
