We spent the day touring, and while there are some great pictures, that post will have to wait, because there is one far more important that I need to do. I need to write about our travel family. Most people call it a travel group - but in 8 days, they have become family. Traveling without Doug has been hard - mostly on Becky who misses her daddy. "Daddy Ben", "Daddy Steve", "Daddy Hal" and "Daddy Jeff" have been a huge help - corralling kids, hauling gear and playing with both girls when my hands are full of paperwork or other stuff. The mommies and grandparents have all lent a hand whenever we have had our full, whether letting me cry on their shoulders, shop for me or pacify my children with a snack. They have held me up in prayer - and physically at times too! Our first travel group was amazing - and we have once again been blessed!

Thank you Jesus for the family of God - for placing exactly the right families together on this wonderful journey; Doug & I are eternally grateful for the love & support this group has shown us. We could not have done this without them.

Karen,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are blessed with great travel families in China. I know from what Dave shared with me that his group functioned in a similar way and it was so helpful. It is great that you can all help one another out.
Cannot wait to see/read more:)
Karen - I know what you mean about the great families. We were fortunate to have traveled with the Rices and Perry's in 2007. They are very special and blessed people.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that!! I love all the ways we get to feel God's touch through those around us.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for your travel family!

Karen, I agree, what an awesome travel family! We have never had the privilege of having a travel family for our entire China trip but have at least had a group twice during the last half of the trip. Maybe next time...
ReplyDeleteAmen to the travel group, I mean travel family. Every travel gang should have a nurse (for diagnosing our ouchies), a teacher (to organize children), an engineer (to lay out the plan in black and white), and a small business owner (to figure out creative solutions).
ReplyDeleteReady for Guangzhou soon, I imagine.
Love to the four/six Yinglings
Dave
What beautiful families- inside and out! I am sure they count themselves just as blessed to have you all!
