.....ar the Casa - it's beginning to look a lot like CHristmas!
Christmas festivities are to be severely scaled back this year, including the decorations, so that we don't totally freak out poor Cami. However, there are some staples that some little elves are not willing to forego, so last weekend, Dad put up the outside lights. He has some help - some very capable help!
After the lights - the next "must have" - was the pre-school Christmas Party. It's nice to go to a Christian school - we can say "Christmas"!
A little cuddle with the big bear
all leading up top the grand arrival! My girls like Santa and his magic. Katie really likes him - she was the first one over to him upon his arrive...followed closely by her slower moving sister!
Finally this year, we got a good Santa picture!!
There was, however, an embarrassing fascination with Santa's beard!
Like I said - it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
As a side note, every time this year, the discussion/argument arises about Santa Claus. About "is it lying to our kids?" and "does Santa Claus water down & trivialize one of our most Holy days as Jesus followers?"
My opinion only - what works for our family - is that kids need some fantasy - some magic. Santa brings our children three small gifts to remind us of the three gifts the Wise Men brought to baby Jesus. WHen they are older, we will introduce the true story of St. Nick form the third century. Christmas is about Jesus in our house - but for us, that does not mean we can not celebrate with St. Nick.
