Over Whelmed

That is the only way to describe where I am at right now - 10 hours away from departing to China. It is a day filled with profound highs and lows - I am devastated at the thought of being away from my family for 12 days, yet I am exhilarated at welcoming a new member of our family. I am moments away from floodgates of tears at any time, yet there is a peace within that surpasses all understanding. I am in awe of the number of people praying for us - thank you is just not big enough to describe how much that means,. The facebook posts, the texts and the emails of support have bathed me in the love of Jesus today.

At the end of it all, I was reminding this morning in worship that it is all to the Glory of God.

It was Him who led us to this child.

It was Him who met every financial need at exactly the right time - thank you to those who headed His call on your life.

It was Him who orchestrated the timing so we would be a family for Christmas.

It is Him who will give me the strength to turn and walk through that security line leaving them behind.

It is Him who will hold me up and allow me to remain calm when introduced to Carmela AiLiu for the first time.

It is Him who will watch over my husband and children while we are apart and bind our family together across the miles.

It is Him who will bring us together again-who will re-form us into a new family.

Glory to God in the Highest -

  1. Wow! I'm overwhelmed with the myriad of feelings you're feeling today. God is overwhelming and asks us to do overwhelming things in His name, with His power, all to the glory of Him. You are set. You know He's got you covered and always has. Have an amazing journey to Carmela AiLiu. I'm excited to see what God has in store for you next...
