Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Thank you to all who have been praying for Doug & the girls! If I knew the person who invented Skype, I would kiss them! It has been a life saver to be able to talk a couple of times a day and with the phone application, I can even say goodnight to the girls no matter where I am!

They are doing good - ok....Becky is - to quote her "having a hard time and trying really hard." Doug managed to make it to work three days this past week - although for one of them he had a 4 year old assistant! It is hard to be away from them - and really hard to miss some important dates - like Becky's Christmas Pre-school program. Thanks again to the miracle of technology, I woke up to find a video on my phone - and some pictures in email, but it is just not the same as being there to see my Angel.

Doug had to have some parental participation to ease her into the whole thing - but once it started- all was well!

  3. The halo look works well on Doug! Could you imagine a trip without Skype???? We are so happy that you are at least able to stay connected and that Becky is "trying hard" Won't be long now and your family will be together!

    Blessings,

  4. Three days ago, GOD somehow led me to your blog via The Enchanted Home. I wasn't even going to open my e-mail that morning, but somehow decided I wanted to see something pretty to distract me from my new life (less than two months)as the legal guardian/foster mom for my two year old great-niece, and how overwhelmed and ill-equipped I was feeling as a now single mom of a baby (I was already the mom of a grown and married daughter and grandma of one).
What I saw wasn't necessarily "pretty", however it was incredibly beautiful. The kind of beauty that leaves you weeping (and I'm not the kind of woman who normally falls apart - even when reading heart wrenching things), but your journey, and your beautiful daughter's story and journey brought me to my knees and healing through tears.

Your words have been such an encouragement and inspiration - and even an opportunity to share HIS love of inner beauty with my little one.

You see, my baby's journey to my home has taken her through fire as well. That fire was a year ago, just a month before her first birthday. It took the life of her three year old brother (one month before he would have turned four), sent her and her father to the burn unit for extended stays, and left her father a quadriplegic, now just learning how to speak again, and with GOD's mercy and miracles, maybe even walk and use his body again someday.

I had been feeling so ill-equipped for this task I've undertaken and all alone (or so I was feeling).

I have followed every word and picture you've shared since this summer when this new walk you're on began.
I don't know why I felt led to share that with you, but I do want you to know I will truly be praying for you, Cami AI Liu, your family, doctors, and anyone else HE places in my prayers in regard to you.

May HE shine his face upon you and grant you HIS peace (shalom), and make HIS presence real to you always.

Your life if truly a living letter from Christ - being lived out in faith and love as Paul says we should be, and you are a blessing to many you may never know here on earth.

    Geordi
